Dr. Akela Capham

Registered Acupuncturist

Dr AkelaI am a Registered Acupuncturist and graduate of MacEwan University’s Acupuncture program. My approach to care is rooted in the belief that every person has a unique story, and every treatment should reflect that. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I take the time to understand how your body, lifestyle, and health concerns connect. This allows me to create treatment plans that are personalized to you by integrating the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. My goal is not only to help relieve symptoms, but also to uncover the root cause contributing to them.

I have experience treating a variety of conditions such as:

  • Post stroke paralysis
  • Diabetic neuropathy
  • Migraines
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Menopause
  • Eczema
  • Arthritis
I have a special interest in treating:

  • Mental health
  • Stress management
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Motor function impairments

Outside of the clinic, you’ll often find me hiking, running, travelling, or painting. My love for an active lifestyle and the outdoors continues to inspire the care I provide, helping others feel better, move better, and live healthier, more balanced lives.

The element I connect with most is Earth. I find the greatest sense of peace and grounding through spending time in nature—whether that’s hiking, going for a run, painting, or practicing yoga in the park. I strive to bring that same calm, grounding energy into every treatment, creating a space where patients can feel supported, relaxed, and connected with themselves as they begin their healing journey.
