Jessica Johnson

MC, Registered Psychologist Trauma-Informed, Person-Centered, Gender-Affirming and Acceptance-Based Support for Youth, Adults & Families

I offer gentle, compassionate, and client-centered therapy rooted in evidence-based practices. My approach blends humanistic, narrative, strengths-based, solution-focused, and person-centered theories. I work with youth (12+), adults, and families who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a supportive partnership—collaborative, flexible, and uniquely shaped around who you are and what you need.

About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia University of Edmonton and a Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle. Since 2015, I’ve supported youth and families in a variety of roles, including youth care, crisis intervention, and family law, before stepping into my work as a therapist in 2022.

I bring clinical experience, but also empathy, compassion, and lived experience into the therapy room. It’s truly an honour to sit with people in their most vulnerable moments and walk alongside them as they heal, grow, and rediscover themselves.

Therapeutic Focus & Specialties

My work is grounded in narrative and strengths-based therapy, and I enjoy incorporating emotion-focused, creative, and experiential approaches. I support individuals working through:

  • Relationship challenges (divorce, interpersonal, romantic, or friendship)
  • Depression, anxiety, and chronic stress
  • Life transitions (school, work, or personal)
  • Gender identity
  • Grief and loss
  • Self esteem and self confidence
  • Emotional regulation challenges

Modalities & Approaches

I strive to create sessions that feel safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental—spaces where you can show up exactly as you are. The approaches I draw from include:

  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Family Systems Theory
  • Acceptance-Based Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy
  • Attachment-Based and Strength-Based Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Outside the Office

When I’m not in the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, exploring new places, and relaxing with my dog while we watch our aquariums. These moments help keep me grounded and connected, and they remind me of the importance of finding small joys in everyday life.

My Element

I’ve always connected deeply with the water element—calming, intuitive, and flowing. I feel most in my element when walking alongside clients as they explore their inner world and move toward healing in ways that feel compassionate and authentic.

Let’s Connect

If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming space where your story is heard and your identity is honoured, I would love to connect. Whether you’re navigating big changes, relational pain, or simply longing for more clarity and ease, I’m here to support you with compassion and genuine care. Please feel free to reach out for a consultation or to learn more about my services. You don’t have to walk this journey alone.
